Watchman Fine Arts ("we," "us," "our") is a contemporary fine art gallery operated by Skylar Baird. This policy describes what personal information we collect when you visit watchmanfinearts.com, subscribe to our newsletter, or purchase artwork or merchandise — and how we use, share, and protect that information.
What we collect
- Newsletter signups: your name (optional) and email address.
- Purchases: name, email, shipping address, and order contents. We do not see or store your payment card details — all card processing happens in your browser through Stripe.
- Contact form messages: your name, email, and the message you send.
- Anonymous site analytics: page views, referring site, country, and device class. No cookies, no IP address stored, no cross-site tracking. Handled by our self-hosted Umami instance.
How we use it
- To fulfill orders and ship purchased items.
- To send transactional emails (order confirmation, shipping notice).
- To send newsletter and series-launch emails — only if you've opted in, and only until you unsubscribe.
- To respond to messages you send us.
- To understand which artwork and pages visitors are drawn to, so we can curate the site.
Who we share it with
We don't sell or rent your information. We share the minimum necessary data with these service providers:

Each of these providers has its own privacy policy and is bound to use your data only to provide their service to us.
Cookies and tracking
We do not use advertising cookies. Our analytics (Umami) is cookieless. Stripe and our checkout flow may set a session cookie required to complete payment — these are removed when you close your browser.
Your rights
You can at any time:
- Unsubscribe from our mailing list using the link at the bottom of every email, or by emailing watchmanfinearts@gmail.com.
- Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
- Request correction or deletion of your data, subject to our need to retain order records for tax and legal compliance.
California residents, EEA residents, and UK residents have additional rights under the CCPA, GDPR, and UK GDPR respectively, including the right to object to processing and the right to data portability. To exercise any right, email us at the address above.
Data retention
- Newsletter subscriber records: retained until you unsubscribe.
- Order records: retained for 7 years for tax compliance.
- Contact-form messages: retained for 2 years.
- Analytics: aggregated; no individual records.
- Server logs: 30 days.
Security
All communication with our site happens over HTTPS. Payment data is handled exclusively by Stripe, which is PCI-DSS Level 1 certified — we never see your card numbers. Admin access to the site is protected by password and short-lived access tokens.
Children
Our service is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with data, contact us and we'll delete it.
International transfers
Our service providers are based in the United States. If you visit from outside the U.S., your data will be transferred to and processed in the United States, under the providers' standard contractual clauses or equivalent safeguards.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy occasionally. Material changes will be announced at the top of this page and, for substantive changes that affect your rights, by email to active subscribers. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent revision.
